Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
Truth: if we listen to anyone long enough, they will say something contradictory.
Truth: if we listen to someone to the degree of fault-finding, we probably need more constructive hobbies.
Perspective. It’s what you get when you climb high enough to take everything in. Nothing escapes your view.
I read or watched something recently about the natural world and how perspective, or even just unobstructed sight, can be the one thing that determines whether an animal will eat or be eaten.
Last week, I wrote about the habit of scrutinizing what others eat. Normally, I don’t scrutinize. Except for now.
This is a pivotal moment in the human story.
Let me be clear: we’re not actually talking about food. And the Bible quote from last week wasn’t really about food either. Here’s how I figured out what it really means.
Whenever I hear The Word and it’s on the topics of food or eating, I pay a little extra attention. What can I say? I like food!
But when The Word serves up the topics of eating and judgment, I’m all ears. It’s like, “Yes, you have my full attention.”
